CALL FOR A MEETING OF KINIJIT SUPPORTERS IN THE UK
Kinijit Support Organization in the United Kingdom has been debilitated with problems for some time now. Some would say it had problems from its formation some 3 years ago. It is public knowledge that in the past, few from the support organization leadership have resigned and others have been pushed out. The trend continues to this day. It has become apparent that it has lost direction and leadership. It is in complete disarray and the self appointed leadership seems to have abandoned the rules of the organization and preoccupied in weaving conspiracy and advancing group interests in the wake of the demise of Kinijit.
There has been no substantive consultation with the wider membership and actions that are considered to be fundamental to the organization are being taken by consulting a handful of loyalists picked up by a faction of the residual leadership of the support organization. The more serious problem within Kinijit that has become public knowledge since the leaders were released from Kality has never been discussed and rationalized by the broad membership. This has been a serious concern of Kinijit Supporters in the United Kingdom.
Some concerned members of the Support Organization are now calling a meeting of Kinijit Supporters to discuss the problems that have paralyzed the support organization. Equally important, it is also to discuss the problem of the division among the Coordinating Committee that has recently been made public in the broader community media.
Individuals that have been involved at different levels and at different times are invited to give statements on and about their experience and perception of the problems. The broader membership would have a free and fair opportunity to discuss the past and prevailing problems and draw guidelines on how the organization can be put back on track and once again made to be governed by its rules and regulations.
All Kinijit supporters that have been marginalized through the years are invited to come to the meeting and share their opinion with others in the spirit of unity, democracy and the right to speak as concerned citizens in the Diaspora. The quest for Democracy has been the attraction for hundreds of supporters to come forward at their own freewill to support Kinijit as a party of coalition that has transcended ethnicity, backward thinking, and dictatorship. We should not abandon that honorable motive. We urge each and every supporter that has distanced themselves from active participation because of the murky situation that has prevailed with in the Support Organization to come to the meeting and air their opinion and contribute to ideas that help strengthen peaceful and democratic ways of running the politics of change in our country and the efforts being made to support this change in the Diaspora.
Date of meeting: Sunday, May 11, 2008
Place: Community Hall, 2A Lithos Road, Finchely Road, London NW3 6EF
Time: 2.30 PM for a 3.15 PM START
The organizers of the meeting requests all members and community websites and radios to assist the effort by helping to disseminate this information as we don't have access to the contact database of the membership.
We can only free ourselves and our people through democratic dialogue and urge all that have supported Kinijit in its time of optimism and despair to take part in this meeting.
Concerned members of Kinijit Support in the United Kingdom.
