In Seattle it should be snowing or raining today as it has been for weeks. After all, we are in the middle of the winter and the rainy season. Today, the sky above is blue, and it is worm, very uncharacteristic to Seattle. It is a reminder of Addis Ababa and the whole of Ethiopia during September. Ethiopians from all over the Northwest came to welcome the beloved leaders and to celebrate the return of His Excellency Chairman Hailu Shawl and his wife Kibirt W/ Alamaz Zewdie to Seattle and to welcome Kinijit Party top officials, the brave sons and daughter of Ethiopia Her Excellency W/t Nigist G.Hiywot and His Excellency Ato Bedru Adem and His Excellency Dr. Taye Woldesemayat, Chairman of KIC.
 
The delegates composed of high officials of CUDP and its major component abroad, the Kinijit International Council (KIC) arrived on January 12th in Seattle led by the Chairman Engineer Hailu Shawl. The meeting of January 13th marks a new phase and a new beginning of true national political mission for Kinijit Party leaders and followers in the Homeland and abroad.
 
His Excellency Chairman Hailu Shawl revealed the vision of Kinijit and its new strategies to overcome the present political struggles, and the future challenges awaiting free and liberated Ethiopians. He outlined the course of actions to overcome the political struggle and the need to prepare for future challenges of leadership to me the social justices and the rebuilding and transformation of the Ethiopian society into the 21st Century, a period of prosperity and peace.
 
Her Excellency W/t Nigist delivered a critical message concerning the sacrifices of women leaders and the lack of them in the present struggles for democracy and social justices. She called for a new surge of women forces to liberate out sisters still agonizing and in inhuman conditions in the prison cells all over Ethiopia, and to take appropriate roles in transforming societies into a better and hopeful conditions politically and economically. She called upon fellow sisters to join and spearhead the struggle and mobilize and utilize the huge resources of women and marked today as the beginning of the great mission.
 
His Excellency Ato Bedru explained how Kinijit will reemerge as a formidable political force in Ethiopia and fulfill the hope of millions that was shuttered by the regime by nullifying their votes and choices. He explained the efforts to rebuild the Command Centers and "democracy offices" and currently underway in many cities and villages all over Ethiopia. Ato Bedru also defined the procedures by way of answering questions how the appropriate bodies of Kinijit, both the "Teqlala Gubaye" and "La-elay Mikr Bet" would examine the causes and the difference that took place among the top leaders and take appropriate actions in accordance to Kinijit rules and regulations necessary to ensure the unity of the party and take measures in order to prevent any such obstacle from taking place in the future.
 
His Excellency Dr. Taye Woldesemayat, Chairman of KIC explained the various functions and counseling services of KIC to Kinijit Party, one of which already underway is developing and maintaining the vast Ethiopians human resources inventory.  Dr. Taye has expressed his vision and hopes that some day soon this project will be the giant mechanism to develop and advance Ethiopia's potential technological and scientific advancements.
 
As the leaders emerged, there was jubilation and emotions were seen on every one's face. Those who thought they would never see the Chairman again were able to see the brave leader today, proud as ever and walking tall. The spirit seen on the faces of the delegates was awesome and aspiring in the true meaning of the word.
 
Ato Seleshi Telahun gave the welcome speech. W/o Mulumebet Retta, Chairwoman of Seattle Kinijit Support Group explained in detail the fruitless effort that the Seattle Kinijit Support Group made to bring together the two groups and to convince Her Excellency V. Chair Judge W/t Birtukan Mideksa and the group she led to work with and under the command of the Chairman until such time they got together and resolve their differences. The Kinijit Support Group took this course of action not because they reached any conclusion judging the merit of grievance of each group, but because they believed it was the standard tradition of every civilized society and every political or civil organization to respect the Institution by respecting the leadership especially the leader as was Chairman Hailu Shawl of Kinijit Party upon whom the Ethiopian people have bestowed great responsibility.
 
During the meeting, the Ethiopian Diaspora Pal Talk transmitted live the interview conducted with Kinijit Officers, Ato Assefa Habtewold from the town of Jima, and Ato Abayneh Berhanu in Addis Ababa both of whom told the Ethiopians all over the World how busy they were rebuilding and restructuring Kinijit command centers and "democracy offices" in every town all over the country.
 
There were several questions at the end of the speech. It is fair to say that the questions were good and sincere as well the answers and responses of each leader. The speech of the Chairman was very precise but also detailed where necessary. The delegates were engaged in the present and future tasks and challenges rather than the past. They have set new directions to rebuild Kinijit and to create a formidable political force that would bring profound changes in the country politically and economically. They are determined to build a force capable to pull the nation from the destructive courses and worsening political and economic crises to the path of reconstruction and building the nation from the bottom up in accordance to capabilities of its people and in accordance to the capacities of its natural resources that are abundant but not utilized or are underutilized. The leaders are determined to finish the unfinished business and fulfill the objectives they promised to the people for which great sacrifices have been paid by the leaders and citizens.
 
The Ethiopians in Seattle are proud to be the launch pad of the new political strategies and approaches that the leadership of Kinijit unveiled. So, it is with great hope and confidence that fellow Ethiopians in Seattle proudly and confidently feel that a new period has began. There is, it is every ones' hope, a desire in every body's heart to be part of the great nation building efforts.
