Last Friday, reports indicate that the US State Department in Washington DC was a venue for the meeting of Ethiopian self declared opposition leaders. Present at the meeting were Lidetu Ayalew, Dr. Beyene Petros, Dr. Merara Gudina, Dr. Negaso Gidada, Dr. Bulcha Demeksa, Birtukan Midiksa, Dr. Berhanu Nega, Dr. Hailu Araya and Ayele Chemiso, the MP leading the Woyane satellite CUDP. Strange bedfellows? Hardly. They are trying to strike a deal to work with the EPRDF and also to take part in the next election. The strategy of bringing so called reformists together is an American one and its other feature is to attack and isolate the so called hardliners identified as Hailu Shawel & the CUDP he leads and the EPRP. Elias Kifle of Ethiopian Review, the Current Affairs Paltalk are some of those assigned to do the job of smearing the name of Engr. Hailu Shawel and the EPRP

There is a saying in Amharic "Ewnetena Negte Eyader
Yeteral". It is true after spinning and flaming the
Diaspora so called Kinijit supporters fight for two
years and standing with KIL faction and insulting
Shaleqa and currently Dr. Taye now Engineer Hailu this
guy is telling Kinijit to go and win local vote in
coming April.

One suggestion for Ato Elias first is to locate his
business to Addis or any where in Ethiopia and start
educating our people about the coming local election.

We know who is already exploiting the current crisis
in the Diaspora and is telling the Ethiopian people
that Kinijit is not capable of resolving its own
difference like TPLF and is not capable to lead the
country.

For this goal Ato Elias played a vital role and he
will be forgiven by TPLF and join his old friend Ato
Lidetu Ayalew and work for him.

Going for election is not an issue now here and your
editorial is out of time and the Ethiopian people
demand is for their right to assemble and organize and
speak and without that there is no election.

Some of us like myself who supported ER and never
believed what others say got it clear now and this man
has problem and I wish he goes back to Ethiopia and
join the TPLF club.

The delegates do not have the mandate of the 60 member Kinijit Central Council. According to posted interviews with members of the Council in Ethiopia, Judge Brutukan allowed only those council members who were in prison to vote on whether the delegates should travel abroad or not. The report said that of the 19 members who were allowed to cast votes, 15 voted for the travel, three voted against and one person abstained. This procedure was illegal and not in accordance with the by-laws of Kinijit. This how the current delegates tried to upstage Eng. Hailu and assume what they called "Collective Leadership", a worn out and antiquated communist concept. Eng. Hailu was elected by members of the general assembly and only that body can remove him from his leadership.
