Today, June 21,
2008 marks the renascence of our party, Coalition for Unity and Democracy.
Hundreds of our compatriots leading the various braches of CUDP have been under
one umbrella to tell the world that “Kinijit
is one and only one.” They were assembled to tell Woyanie and its tails
that “There is but one Kinijit and its
name is Coalition for Unity and Democracy/CUDP/KINIJIT and its leader is Hailu
Shawel.”
The Party that
has been almost knocked out by the guns and machineguns of TPLF/EPRDF has risen
from the ground it was almost obscured. This demonstrates that Kinijit is immortal.
It also illustrates that the mortals are those who try to slay Kinijit. Kinijit
is immortal for a simple reason that it belongs to the people. It is in the
hearts of the people and remains to be the soul and body of the people. To be
anti-Kinijit is therefore is to be anti-people. Thus those who ran against the
people shall be abolished by the people. The demise of such elements is
therefore not very far away.
Today the people
of Ethiopia
have loudly voiced their wishes through their representatives. They have said
that they deserve the blessings of democracy today. They have said that they do
not allow the rule of tyranny any more. They have said that they will not allow
their voices stolen any more. The representatives from Jimma Zone, Dewaro,
Awasa, Gemu, Sidama, Gofa etc have said that they will rise up again to move
the struggle forward. They have vowed that they will stand together against
those who violate their basic rights of electing their leaders. Their
conviction is so strong that it is evident that EPRDF will not be able to smash
the people’s power any more. It is also evident that no “Agazi” fascist force can
break their unity. Learning from the past experience they have vowed to protect
their struggle from the barbaric annihilations and other crimes committed
against them by EPRDF armed forces...
Today, all parts
of the community in Ethiopia
are victims of mal-administration. The peasantry, the proletariat (worker), the
army, the intelligentsia and the traders are all affected by the
mal-administration of tyrant Melese Zenawi. The ethno-centered government has
left no ethnic group in Ethiopia
unbothered. There is no Ethiopian that has not lost his children in the street
of citifies and the countryside. Children of farmers, soldiers’ traders’ and
workers’ have been scarified on their way to schools, churches and playing
grounds. Mothers have been shot in front
of their children, wives killed in front of their husbands and husbands in
front of their wives. This and many other crimes committed by the ruling party
have created oneness among the people against the common enemy, EPRDF. The people therefore knot hand in hand and go
forward for their salivation and safety surrounding Kinijit, the only hope of
the people.
With the assembly
that has been conducted today, in the 2nd. Congress of Kinijit led
by Hailu Shawel the renascence of not only the party but also a free Ethiopian
nation has begins. A new era of struggle is opened to throw away tyranny once
and for all. Instead a new democratic system will prevail in our motherland.
