Good leaders are people who are willing to sacrifice their careers for the sake of the people they serve. Bad leaders are willing to sacrifice the people for the sake of their careers. By determining early on which category a person falls into is the best way for you to determine whether a person will listen to you, or will manipulate you. For the last one month or we had interviews, discourses and discussions, what ever the case, apparently most of our leaders including. Their main problems observed of the interviewee are they are not good listeners 1)Fast to defend and talk about even a slight mistake of grammar 2)Losing the objective of leadership, decide fate of people rather than listen their cry 3)They are self defensive 4)Express personal opinions rather than the peoples opinion 5)Talking their own agenda rather than the peoples agenda 6)Bias or stereotyping 7)Boasting about self esteem on media Lip service and saving face value 9)Never ask question but always ready to answer 10)Informative no stand or problem solving speeches .A wise leader might say, "Listen to everyone, then make decisions that are best for the group. The key to leading people is to reach them and, believe it or not, the key to reaching them is to listen. The leader that does not listen is only a leader due to resources and not character, and thus is not truly a leader at all. The old debate axiom is, "He who does not know his opponents arguments does not know his own." Take this to heart. A good leader knows when to admit he is wrong. That is why most politicians are puppets instead of real leaders, they always choose image over improvement. The bible says what makes the best leader... when the Disciples asked Jesus which of US is the greatest and will sit at your right hand in heaven, Jesus replied, "The one who is the least among you, will be the greatest." By this, He meant that to lead is to serve and you cannot serve if you don’t listen completely to the desires and questions of those who you represent. The best leaders neither assume, nor do they treat others with disdain for their point of view. Of course not all advice or information is of use, but a leader will make even those individuals feel a part of the team, and in turn mentor them when their ideas and suggestions are not in line with the goals of the organization. Sometimes a leader has to decide that some interviews are not good for the whole of the organization and treat them accordingly... and this is a trait of good listening also since bad information that wastes time and resources is part of a leaders decision making process. Leaders must attempt to understand the viewpoints of those providing the feedback before they make a judgment. If the feedback is valuable, it is critical they should abandon their own behaviors accordingly. A good leader will ask follow up questions to drill down to the core of the issue. Then they begin the process of problem solving. However, a truly great leader will ask questions which lead the other person into discovering their own solutions to the issue.
