The Ethiopian former minister of defence and TPLF dissident has been keeping a low profile since he was freed from prison. He did not join the new party launched by the other TPLF dissident formed around Grebru Asrat, the former President of the Tigray Regional State. At the beginning of December in Denver (Colorado) Seye Abraha met one of the leaders of the moderate opposition, Berhanu Nega, to discuss possible political cooperation.

I have heard interviews given by Seye post imprisonment. Beforeefore was released I was one of the guys who has been fighting in different ways for the release of CUD leaders including the release of Tamirat Layne. Seye was put in jail as any street criminal was released by a judge (Birtukan Medeksa) then he was rearrested and spent six years in Akaki prison. It is important to know that he was imprisoned with seven or eight brothers and sisters. He also said in one of his interviews that he found his toddler son grown-up.
What surprised me me in his interviews is that he did not show any bitterness. I do not understand how a supposedly Woyane Hero like Seye be jailed for six years by a judgment of Kangaroo court that he himself helped create. Does Seye admit the charges and therefore he agrees with the judgment of the Kangaroo court. Does Tamirat Layne also think the same way. The way Meles operates is it possible that the whole Seye drama was to plant him in the enemy camp. If this is not the strategy why did Seye not join Gebru and instead wants to join Berhanu Nega. Just imagine the strategy of 1. Seye joining Berhanu Nega. 2.Gebru the ex- governor of Tigray the other player. 3. TPLF of course the third player player. Add to this the other Tigre parties both in Europe and America. If all the Tigre parties manage to attract other people from the different ethnic parties Meles succeeds in keeping the Tigre party in power for I don't know how many years.
