Lately, You might have read an article "the prison speaks Oromiffa" written by Dr.Fekade Shewakena, the title for his article he said borrowed from Siye Abraha, the X- TPLF top official exerted from his speech in Washington DC. Fekade in his article is accusing Ethiopians for keeping silent while the crime against the entire people of Oromo is committed by the TPLF government which labeled it as shame.
Educated individuals and the few opposition websites that are pumping out information to promote abusers of Human Rights such as the OLF and its likes to create a good image on the public eye to hijack your conscience with their absurd nonsense accusing Ethiopians to make you feel guilt for not having sympathy to the Oromo peasants while abused by TPLF government, as if you didn't care, or as if you were not suffering, arrested, kidnapped, wounded, immigrated, protest against the repressive system to bring equal justice for all in Ethiopia is the new hoax they are coming with.
His article was highlighted with a picture of the anti Ethiopia OLF guerrilla fighter holding a machine gun on his shoulder as an Adds to the Human Rights abuser OLF posted on Ethiomedia.com on January 17. 2008.
As long as we failed constantly react against those who knowingly or unknowingly promote the secessionist agenda and the Human Right abusers broken spirit to recover, the image of Ethiopian people not the repressive government image will continually seen as abusive community against a given ethnic group.
The above accusation by Fekade accusing Ethiopians as not caring or as not staging a protest against TPLF to show support to the Oromo people is a hoax that was been trumped up by OLF itself for years to create conflict against each other in order to take away the Oromo people who refused to buy its propaganda.
Fekade himself and his likes were the first distractive group under the "KIL" who engaged in conspiracy of destroying the Diaspora opposition unity ever since the leaders arrested nearly for two years without showing any protest or sign of organized sympathy in public to the leadership of Kinijit let alone to stage a protest to support the Oromo people. He is using this opportunity to create the image of himself and his AFD/KIL/ in the mean time to boost the moral of the corrupted OLF criminal party which he distortedly calls it "Representative party of the Oromo people" to resuscitate it from its death.
Fekade asked to all Ethiopians and to himself <If we don't do this now don't ask me later to stand against Oromos when they rise to fight back and decide to go out of the Ethiopian union and form their own country. What would I answer when they ask me what I have been doing when all this inhumanity was raining on them?>
This kind of propaganda is what OLF was looking for years and years to support its cause and got one now. First of all, the way he phrased the idea is wrong and could switch innocent Oromo people as if it is natural right of some one to betray and destroy his own country just because someone didn't support his case when repressed by a tyrannical system. It the responsibility of educated elements to teach society to separate government repression from society as a whole. Unfortunately, the educated Ethiopians are teaching or repeating the same irrational thoughts of greedy or racists or ethnocentrisms, or literate classes who simply came with rhetoric of "LENE YALHONECH ETHIOPIA TIBETATES", LENE YALHONECH TIGRAY TISEBABER" (if the Ethiopia now or previous or the Ethiopia of future is didn't feed me, or abuse me, let her go to hell" and so on and so fourth. This is total hooligan thoughts who do not understand the repressive agent from the people of the country as a whole.
Why would we believe that the wise people of Oromo will walk into such habit of "Lene Yalhonech Ethiopia Be Af Timwa Tidefa!'? Why? to destroy his own country Ethiopia simply because Ethiopians in the Diaspora don't come out and protest publicly against the TPLF government? Do not take me wrong that I do not oppose his proposal to stage public protest or other forms of protest. But, Fekade should knew better that OLF as Human Right violator involved in Ethnic cleansing several times against Amhara farmers and settlers in the Oromo region didn't ask secession from Ethiopia or from Oromo people. Then, what drove Fekade to think the wise Oromo people will do ask secession because the Diaspora Ethiopians didn't protest in DC or New York?
We know that OLF was doing crimes every where in its area against many ethnic groups. Though there are some issues needed to be sorted in regard to the nature of TPLF, the following person some one who seems the TPLF government Supporter who is an Oromo by the name Mr. Gemeda Humnasa in his article Oromo-Ethiopia affairs: the toughest job in Minnesota" exposed the nature of OLF in this way
<Also according to a report by Human Rights Watch (HRW), 154 ethnic Amharas were killed by OLF supporters and militia in another incident in December 1991. This mass murder was known as Arba Guugu Massacre and most of these slaughtered Amhara settlers were labeled by OLF members by the derogatory term "Neftenga."
Then there is also the Assosa Massacre. This massacre of nearly 300 Amharas in the Benshangul region of Ethiopia has been mostly the work of OLF rebels in the 1990 transition periods. The fact that the causalities were civilians instead of Ethiopian army soldiers, who OLF was fighting against, has marred OLF's image in that Ethiopian region for many years. Despite these terrorist works of OLF that has killed so many civilians; various pro-OLF Oromos living in Minnesota continue to finance OLF's violent activities.
In addition, most Ethiopians haven't forgotten the horrifying ordeal of the Bedeno Massacre. According to Human Rights Watch, OLF spokespersons admitted that its members murdered 150 more civilians during the Bedeno massacre where most of the causalities were forced to jump off a cliff by extremist Oromo members of OLF in Ethiopia.
These are only some of the major mass killings committed by OLF in the last few years. There are numerous more assassinations, provocations and small scale killings carried out by the OLF and its OLA armed division. MIPT Terrorism Knowledge Base (TKB) does comprehensive research and analysis on global terrorist incidents - mostly small scale cases. According to TKB's database, the Oromo Liberation Front has increased its arbitrary attacks since 2000, including assaults on educational institutions, private citizens, hotels and other businesses. In fact TKB indicated that the Oromo Liberation Front has admitted to committing some of the most deadly attacks on civilians and property damages; including admitting the June 24 2002 bombing of the Railway Commission of Dire Dawa, South East Ethiopia.
Ironically, all of these OLF terrorist attacks on hundreds of civilians in the name of an ethnocentric liberation ideology during the last two decades seem to oppose its own mission statement that was supposed to stand for human right values. This has drastically harmed the abilities of OLF members, especially living in Minnesota, to gain any diplomatic benefit in their favor. Not only that, it has been almost impossible for OLF to accuse the Ethiopian government on human rights. While asking for anonymity for his safety, one anti-OLF Oromo American living in Minnesota said "it is hard for OLF or ULFO or actually any armed liberation fronts to lecture others on human rights while they continue to commit every human rights violation there is. People wait until civilian causality to condemn this militia but what about the killing of Oromo national soldiers by OLF militia? There has to be a phase where they adjust their movement and choose peaceful means instead of following the same formula for decades."
B>OLF's ongoing fight against Oromos in Ethiopia
Even more aggravating the issue is that the voice of a million or more Oromos of mixed ancestors or mixed Oromos from Oromia, Abyssinia and/or mixed with one of the other 79 Ethiopian ethnic groups, has been almost completely ignored by the OLF movement. Even in some cases, both mixed and full Oromos who didn't accept OLF's ideologies have been ignored and at times attacks by the Oromo separatist groups. A Human Rights report published in 1993 has described the prior incidents and events in Ethiopia while OLF was still in the country during the transition periods. The report showed that OLF and other Oromo separatist groups had to "detain" and "torture" Oromos who didn't accept OLF and its policies. According to the Institute of Security Studies, the Oromo liberation movement has overtime "transformed from a revolution movement into a terrorist movement."
Also it hasn't been just ordinary Oromos condemning the OLF militia, condemning their Oromo financers in Minnesota and some pro-OLF Oromo immigrants in Washington D.C. Various Oromo professors and Oromo intellectuals in Ethiopia continue to accuse OLF of harming the peaceful struggle to improve Ethiopia from inside out>.
Fekade knowing, with all these crimes committed by OLF to the Amhra people, there were never one single day Fekade mentioned the sympathy that now he is accusing Ethiopians lacking towards Oromo people be to the Amhra or to Tigrayan, Afars.., warned us the same circumstances of Secessionist threat to come if we lack them the support he accused us of not giving. How many years was he himself kept silent when all those ethnic population of Ethiopians were abused equally? Do they have to ask secession, because I and Fekade Shewakena didn't protest in their support against repressive government?
Does number of abuse vary from place to place in the face of a tyrant? Yes. Do we have to warn society that that ethnic group will be asking secession if the Diaspora Ethiopia didn't support with him? Even if they ask where the Ethiopians were, many of us will tell them what we as individuals were doing to bring justice and to expose the criminals that were been abusing them, murdering them in mass, deporting them and torturing them on fire. We will show them the recorded evidence that is spread all over the Human Rights institutions and United Nations and African Unions and churches and International leaders. Our magazines, our papers, our writings speak for them selves ever since OLF and TPLF/EPLF came to power in 1991 and what took place at the time by OLF/TPLF/EPLF and the kind of protest is recorded.
After OLF dried its power, after it finished its ethnic cleansing and deportation of poor Amhara and Gurage and similar poor settlers in Oromo areas; -It started to plant bombs in civilian areas, it started to spread racist and violent propaganda for the Oromo people to rise up against Amhara and Tigrayans to establish Oromo Republic. After, that TPLF started to be violent and used repressive measures against anyone who looks OLF insurgent or suspect of supporting OLF. As the result, 300 (three Hundred) Oromo prisoners are in Kaliti (according to the OLF report. And thousands of Oromo in Oromo prisoners.
We showed our sympathy, since they are our half blood as an Ethiopians fused with every ethnic in Ethiopia. We shouted, resisted the abuse, we wrote, protest. All you have to do is visit all the Ethiopian magazines (Ethiopian Register, Ethiopian Human Rights Council, SOCEPP, Hawariya Amharic paper, EPRP /Finote/ NeTsanet LeEthiopia Radio, and many and many more (not to mention the media that came lately to spare us from sending our Amharic articles to Ethiopia for publishing. Few of those are, Ethiolion, Mahder, Debteraw, Ethiopiawinet Radio, (The good Ethiopian -Ato MIRCHA SINISHAw), Assimba website, Tinsae radio, Ethiox website, EPRP and its Democraciya- press releases", Ethiomedia.com, Nazret.com, Elias Kifle (ER) (not the Elias Kifle of today but the good man patriot the good old time Elias Kifle), Addis Voice, .. All the rest of the forums that I can't recall in numbers and names. They all voiced their concern and reported every single abuse reached to their desk, including abuse and arrests of single Oromo individuals. So we do not regret anything. We are confidence, that we spoke our mind to protect and stand for all Ethiopians as one voice and we did. And showed their sympathy much better than the OLF and we are proud of it.
When OLF protest in the Diaspora covering his head with its own fabricated flag of denial; the Ethiopians were in Unisom protest TPLF waving the Ethiopian Flag that is hoisted all over the world buildings and United nations to show our sympathy and solidarity and brother/sisterly care to the Oromo people and with the rest of the 79 or so abused communities. We found it very difficult to stand with the anti Ethiopian group OLF or ONLF to protest together while they hoist their own flag to contradict and insult our pride and our flag and our people who died and gave their blood for it to hoist for ever! To begin with they are not entitled to protest for Human Rights when they themselves are the number one abuser of Human Right abuser and violators. So, we demand Fekade to stop telling us OLF as representative of Ortomo. That is what shame is if Fekade knows when and where to use such term.
Coming to the Siye issue that Dr. Fekade is highlighting his Siye's speech with a bold pen "The Prison Speaks Oromiffa".
As Ethiomedia.com on his interview with "Ben" Ethiopia First.com recently, brother Ato Abraha Belay labeled to people who react to Siye Abraha for different reasons (which one should expect for a high official like him had power to decide or power to implement decision), as "FEW EXTREMISTS" . For fear not to be called extremists, my idea will not be stopped from airing my voice as it is my right to do so.
What was cooked for Ethiopia in 1991 by TPLF/OLF/EPLF was stopped from succeeding by the help of Ethiopian people and their god. It was chaos, it was ethnic cleansing, it was fascism, it was disintegration and mass deportation and conflict and war. It was stopped in its track by the majority Ethiopians through caring and concern of love to Ethiopia guided by Ethiopian "Haymanotawee- Gibre Gebimnnet".
Siye was one of the authorities of the TPLF whose finger print is in every vital decision to what we Ethiopians are now facing through his party TPLF. Do I give him forgiveness? Yes. No question about it. Should he talk more about TPLF and the distraction it brought upon the Tigrayan people? Yes. I feel I was betrayed. Why? He knew that the 4Million and half Tigrayans in Tigray (leave us the Diaspora alone we are already living in misery for years) are "YE KUM ISRENGA" ever since TPLF came to exist in 1976. Uncountable Tigrayans are held in under ground prisons their face changed to yellow color (I have seen some of them with my own eye). Some of the prisons are called "GIHINIM" (Gahanem- Heliish!).
People were made buried live, and made perished their muscle and skeleton eaten by maggots from created by the sun scorched heated soil which later multiplied and breed inside the victim's body. The victim is eaten alive by maggots before the victim died standing inside narrow ground hole dogged by the victim himself before he was sent to the ground hole to die alive suffering there by maggots and insects and scorpions for several days his hands and feet tied with a robe. I already name the victims on my last article. (Read Amora Amharic book by Gidey Bahrishum).
These are numerous and are sentenced to death without court. What about the four Million and half Tigrayan population that was never allowed to speak and voice their mind? The entire population is prisoner in a prison Island called "Tigray" ever since 1976. The MMLLT are the judges and executioners. The population of Tigray was made to speak and to talk to dance to sing to think, to pray the way TPLF sing, speak, pray, dance and the way TPLF walk made to walk. Each Tigrayan family is scoped and is known by TPLF who is who and whose family lives where. We are all prisoners for the last over 28 years or so.
Oromo population or Somalia or Harari or Benshangul or any of them can escape to neighboring countries and live with minimum risk. If Tigraway escape and wanted to immigrate to Sudan or Djibouti; he will be immediately identified by their underground cadres or "Hafash Mahber" (TPLF community (mass) association) if he oppose them will be subject to be murdered or false black mailing his pride and his name. If he challenges them, he will be hung, poisoned. Killed by knife, or left to be disable or kidnapped and taken back to Tigray where "hell" waits for him.
When there are many multiple records available in the Human Rights institutions that explain how the Oromo or others are arrested and the way the repression they are encountered, NO RECORD WAS AVAILABEL so far about the abuse Tigrayan are experiencing and the mental anguish they are going through. There are disappearances, arrests, murders, no one reports them. It is obvious why there are no records of abuse in Tigray unlike the Oromo (in some ways the Oromo people are lucky many of us have written and appeal or protest for them), the base of TPLF is in Tigray and each house is supervised by the multiple secret service stretched all over the community in the youth, women, farmers, army, students, labor, teachers associations, churches, Mosques, work places, schools and community group.
Each is programmed to breathe the breath of TPLF. Out of the heart beat and the rhythm of TPLF, you tried to breathe or inhale or exhale, you are inviting for trouble. This is slavery/MMLT hostage of the entire Tigray society that no one yet reported to the world with accurate repots of abuse. No one is allowed to report any abuse from there like the Oromo people who have many ways and opportunity to defend themselves or to appeal to the world.
The four Million and half Tigrayan prisoners in Tigray in an island called "Tigray", the prison speaks "Tigringa" and the guards that keep the Tigrayans speak "Tigringa". Are there worst misery and prison and repression of 4 million Tigrayans that the world didn't know since 1976 that goes on still as we speak? Siye or Fekade should have spoken us more frankly about all prisoners in Ethiopia than to separately see abuse that is difficult to organize. Let us speak and protest against tyranny for all Ethiopians, to make our struggle easy and shorter to see victorious era with our people together. To reach there, we all need to reject the hoaxters on time when they tried to push their "New Big Lie"// -// Ethiopia will prevail!
